Priscilla: trailer revisits Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s love story


One year after Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis" biopic, celebrated director Sofia Coppola brings a new cinematic perspective on Elvis and Priscilla Presley's relationship in "Priscilla."

The first trailer for the film, which released on Wednesday, takes a look at the origins of how the pair came to be.

The trailer features quick shots of a spellbound Elvis and Priscilla gazing at each other, as well as their first date and a tour of Elvis' Graceland mansion in Memphis.

"Priscilla" is the latest iteration of the Elvis story being told on screen, following Luhrmann's Oscar-nominated 2022 "Elvis" film, which starred Austin Butler.

Priscilla was played by actor Olivia DeJohnze in that film. The real Priscilla Presley strongly praised the Luhrmann film on her social media, and she personally supported it at several premieres and award shows.

Presley has spoken kindly of the new film as well however, telling Variety last year that she thinks Elordi is “a great actor.”

“I love Sofia (Coppola),” she added, continuing to say “I love her film work, and I think it’ll be fine… I hope!” “Priscilla” is scheduled for release in October.
